Someone just came door to door in my apartment building. Not sure how she got in as it has security, but she assumed I was just going to provide her with my electric bill to "verify" whatever she was talking about.

I informed her I don't receive a paper bill, I do everything online. She then proceeded to pull out her cell phone and told me to login to National Grid's website and retrieve my bill that way. When I declined and said I'm all set, she got annoyed and said she was just here to "help me out".

I said no thank you and shut the door, but I'm concerned about my elderly neighbor who I heard talking to this woman in the hallway for quite some time. Is this legal for them to do?
